Top bedroom trends for 2025

Update your bedroom in 2025 with new bedroom wardrobes

It has been a long dark winter, but spring is on the way. And spring is the time when many of us feel motivated to improve our homes. Perhaps it’s the human equivalent of birds starting to nest, but it seems the natural thing to do at this time of year. If your bedroom is beginning to look a little tired, why not plan to spruce it up during 2025? This doesn’t necessarily have to be a major overhaul. Even small changes can make a big difference.

Below we explore five bedroom trends that are emerging in 2025. We’re not suggesting you follow the crowd. Your bedroom has to be just right for you, not anyone else. But they may help to kick start some ideas that will evolve into the ideal bedroom updates for you.

Tailored storage solutions

The essential first step in getting your bedroom the way you want it to be is to maximise the amount of storage you have. But to ensure that this also looks stylish, you need to consider tailored storage solutions. Rather than have a disparate collection of bedroom wardrobes, chests and so on, your bedroom could look much better with custom-made bedroom wardrobes that make the most of every inch of space in your bedroom.

For example, imagine a custom-built bedroom wardrobe completely filling one bedroom wall, including any areas of potentially dead space created by awkward corners or sloping ceilings. For example, the Carlton bedroom wardrobes pictured below.

How much better does that look than if the wall were cluttered with an array of separate furniture items? The stylish indigo blue bedroom wardrobes provide not only a central focus for the room, but also a vastly increased storage space to keep clutter to a minimum.

Warm minimalism

Custom-built bedroom wardrobes are a tremendous asset if you want a minimalist look for your bedroom. As we’ve just seen, they not only look stylish but can be designed to put all available space in your bedroom to good use.

When the word minimalism is mentioned, many of us immediately think of cold, stark, white rooms that may look fantastically uncluttered but are not very welcoming. But this need not be the case at all. In fact, the trend for 2025 is warm minimalism.

The aim of warm minimalism is to combine warm, textured decor with as few items as possible in your bedroom. Any item in your room must earn its place. Does it really deserve to take up precious space in your bedroom? Could it fulfil more than one function in your room, for example seating and storage?

It’s good to have a degree of space in a room, to let it breathe. But you can overcome any sense of emptiness with warmth in your decor. Think earthy tones, natural materials and a variety of textures. This should enable you to create a cosy, welcoming ambience without crowding and clutter.

Statement colours

Country Living magazine recently published a list of the top 13 most popular bedroom colours for 2025, based on search analysis data of the colours being browsed online. These 13 are:

  • Green
  • Beige
  • Sage green
  • Black
  • Grey
  • Pink
  • Blue
  • White
  • Navy
  • Purple
  • Yellow
  • Dark blue
  • Cream

Other designers have specifically highlighted pink and yellow as two of the colours rapidly rising in popularity this year. And the combination of dusky pink with either buttery yellow or warm neutrals can bring a joyful, sunny ambience to your bedroom.

Whichever colour(s) you choose, be adventurous with your use of colour. And experiment with using colour not just on walls, but on other aspects of your room such as ceilings, doors, skirting boards, window frames, picture rails and radiators.

A touch of nostalgia

In contrast to the desire for minimalism, there is also an emerging trend for nostalgia in the bedroom. Not only is this trend reflected in drenches of colour, but it also extends into patterns such as stripes and florals. This is often in the form of wallpaper, but could be achieved less permanently with a patterned headboard, bedspread, rugs and cushions.

Also in keeping with the nostalgia trend is to feature tastefully displayed personal items in the bedroom, that add a touch of personality, tell a story and bring back lots of happy memories. And you may want to add one or two retro items in the room, such as a nightstand or vintage mirror.

Biophilic design

Biophilia is the fundamental human desire to connect with nature, and biophilic design – also known as bringing the outside in – emphasises the incorporation of natural elements into our living space.

Our article Bring the outside into your bedroom this summer suggests various ways that we can incorporate natural elements into the bedroom. These include:

  • Letting as much light into the room as you are able to;
  • Using mirrors to reflect light around the room;
  • Featuring nature-inspired colours in your room;
  • Accessorising your room with florals;
  • Adding natural textures to your room;
  • Bringing plants and flowers into your room.

Doing some or all of the above could not only transform the look and feel of your bedroom, but also help to improve well-being as a result.
