Create Your Own Bespoke Furniture!
DIY Homefit is renowned for its high quality DIY furniture, and our excellent range of replacement kitchen doors and wardrobe doors. But have you ever thought about building your own bespoke furniture from our products? In this blog we show you how to make a stylish blanket box!
The images below show two different styles of blanket boxes. On the left is a plain Blanket Box, and on the right a Gothic Blanket Box.
Both the above blanket boxes can be created from several of the products on this website. Some basic woodworking/ fitting skills are needed but nothing too complicated. As this is a self-design and assembly project each product is likely to differ in appearance depending who is making it. Whilst there are no specific instructions, the parts you will need are as follows:
-
2 panels for the sides and 2 panels for the front and back. For details of the Gothic panels click here, and for other door panels in our Bella range click here.
-
Matching top
-
Melamine faced chipboard for the base
To fix it all together you can use any appropriate method, e.g. 30mm x 30mm wooden battens, a variety of angle brackets or even dowels and glue!
We would love to hear from you if you do create one of these blanket boxes, or in fact any other item of DIY furniture using products on this website. If you send us a photo of what you have created, we may well feature it in a future edition of this blog! Unleash your creativity with DIY Homefit, and we look forward to seeing the results!
