Eat, Drink and Be Merry!

The festive season is almost upon us so today we thought we’d take a look at some stylish ways to store your Christmas wine!

Paint It Black!

The colour black has had a lot of publicity recently with the latest Black Friday having happened on Friday 27th November. Black Friday is the day immediately after Thanksgiving in the US and which increasingly heralds the start of the Christmas shopping season. The reference to black signifies the anticipated health of an organisation’s bank balance after all the profit they make on Black Friday!

It’s all about the accessories!

As every self-respecting fashionista knows, accessories are all! Whether jewellery, shoes, handbags or hair decorations, the right accessories can make all the different to an outfit, totally transforming its effect.

Re-defining Rubbish

At DIY Homefit we do like the slogan on The Co-operative Food range of reusable shopping bags – “Carrier bags are rubbish”. The bags are available in a number of sizes and designs but all in a striking turquoise colour and bearing the slogan. Since the introduction of the compulsory charge for plastic carrier bags in October, all large stores are now offering customers a range of alternative longer-lasting bags to purchase.

Another Christmas Another Show!

You know when you can’t get a song out of your head?!  Well that old Cole Porter song “Another Opening Another Show” is in ours at the moment. The lyrics are all about preparing for opening night and in a way they remind us of preparing for Christmas. Every year, despite our best intentions to keep things simple, most of us get swept up in the Christmas frenzy!

DIY Homefit – Where the Fitting is Easy!

But have you tried to buy a light bulb recently?  It used to be easy but the specifications have changed so much over the past few years that many of us now feel confused.  It can be hard to get to grips with what all the abbreviations mean and how the wattage of the newer bulbs – especially the energy saving ones – relates to the old ones.

Getting Creative: The “Queen of Beads” kitchen

Here at DIY Homefit, we are always on the lookout for creative bespoke kitchen and bedroom ideas. Today our travels take us the other side of the Atlantic, New York to be specific, where we have found an impressive kitchen design made almost entirely of beads!

Seasons Greetings!

No, we haven’t totally lost the plot at DIY Homefit! We do know it’s only October. But that does mean that if you want to do a bedroom makeover or kitchen refurbishment in time for Christmas then now is the time to get things moving!

Creating a Retro Kitchen

Queen Elizabeth II has become Britain’s longest reigning monarch, surpassing Queen Victoria’s reign of 63 years and 216 days. In 1953, millions of people watched her coronation on television and there were also hundreds of street parties all around the country. So much has changed since then, but it is an era that many people cherish and, as part of this, there is a growing trend for retro style kitchens.
