So what is in your utility room?!
Improve your home with replacement kitchen doors from DIY Homefit
If you are lucky enough to have a utility room, what do you actually keep in it?
When looking for a new home, a utility room always seems like a really good idea. You imagine all the household items that could go in there, leaving your kitchen beautifully clean and uncluttered. The utility room will be where all the practical and dirty and functional things happen – leaving the rest of your home with that minimalistically chic look.
Except it’s never quite like that!
Most utility rooms are crammed with “stuff”. Probably any combination of the following:
- Washing machine
- Tumble drier
- Clothes airer
- Iron and ironing board
- Laundry and ironing baskets
- Microwave
- Extra fridge freezer
- Overflow of bottled/tinned goods
- Coat hooks
- Boot racks
- Wellies
- School bags
- Sports supplies
- Hobbies equipment
- Pet supplies
- Cleaning supplies
- Hardware such as light bulbs, candles etc
- Bins
You can probably add a lot more to the above list! But as you can see, no matter how large your utility room, it is going to get very cluttered very quickly if you are not careful. Then the clutter will inevitably spill out into the kitchen then advance ever onwards into the rest of your home.
So what is the answer? How can you keep your utility room clutter free?
A good idea is to install as many built in cupboards as possible into your utility room. This will enable you to organise yourself so that everything has a place and can be stowed away easily. Then all you need to do is close the cupboard door and the room will actually look good as well as being functional.
If you already have some cabinets in your utility room and want to add more, you could use replacement kitchen doors for your existing cabinets then add new kitchen cabinets in the same design. At DIY Homefit we have comprehensive ranges of kitchen cabinets, cupboards and drawers, and complementing ranges of replacement kitchen cupboard doors.
